You have already got it
But most of us do not believe in the blessings of God unless we see a physical manifestation of it. Consider the example of television signals in a room, believe it or not, there are television signals every where and you can know it if you connect a TV set and see the picture on it. This is the same with God's blessings, he has already broadcasted all his blessings and it is up to us to believe and receive those blessings.
Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Scripture clearly says that God has already blessed us with all the spiritual blessings. If God has already done it, why are we asking God to bless us or others when in the reality it is already done. People may say that God knows my heart and i believe Him completely.
Matthew 12:34 says .........For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
This is not to condemn any of you, but to tell that words carry significance.
Now some may say that it speaks of the spiritual realm! Yes it is true that anything in the spirit, does not automatically get manifested in our body, but it is easier to have this mindset that you have already got it and to go and release it. We have no need to fight and convince God to heal or bless us.
God is already dwelling in the inside of a born again person and so we need not fight against the demons to make our prayers reach God. If people can recognise it, then they can easily commune with God and live a victorious christian life.
The knowledge that "we have the raising of jesus from the dead power lies within us", believe me, it can radically transform a person's life.It is just taking out all the good things that God has placed within us, rather than pleading with God for everything which he has already done. We do not need God to pour out his joy, blessings, love and so on, it is already there in His Spirit which is within the born again person. Now let me qualify this statement, Only born again believer has this Spirit of God inside of him, with all the blessings being poured out into his spirit.
If we are in Christ Jesus then we should know what the scriptures say about us.
Colossians 2:9-10
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power
John 1:16
And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.
Let us go back to the example of the television signals, if your TV set is off, you would not in any way call the TV station and ask them to broadcast a particular program of your choice, because you know that they are 24/7 broadcasting or transmitting, it is we who have to turn on our sets. We do the same with God, we go back to Him and ask for blessings when it is already available for you to take it. Just turn on into the knowledge of what He has done to you and claim it. This may be shocking, but that is what the scriptures say again and again. God has already done His part.
Matthew 6:8 says
For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
The things of life many times catches us off guard, but God is never shocked. Nothing is new to Him. God has already made the supply and it is infinetly greater than the need and we need not have to call God now to meet our needs. We need to learn how to release the authority which is inside us and release it.
Ephesians 1:6 says
to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
God has already accepted us in Jesus Christ, if we have believed in Jesus christ. We do not have to do anyother thing to get accepted by God if we have already believed and accepted Jesus christ. Regardless of whatever we do later, God sees us as being in Christ and has accepted us. In the following verse we see that we have redemption through his blood, that is again a thing which is already accomplished.
Hebrews 9:12 confirms the same about redemption.
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Our redemption is not restricted until the period we have accepted Christ and every sin we do after that needs to be confessed and be brought under the blood of Jesus Christ, now turning away from sin is a good thing as Romans 6:16 says that to whom we yield ourselves we are slaves. If we yield to sin we are slaves to death or if to obedience then we are slaves to righteousness.
We need to understand that we do not lose any right standing with God, but we need to turn from the sin for our own benefit, because if we yield to satan he is going to have authority over us and will result in hardening of our hearts towards God. God's heart is not based on how we perform. Once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our saviour according to Hebrews 9:12 and Ephesians 1:7 we have already received redemption which is eternal. Our redemption is just not until the next sin we are to do!! We do not have to pray through our sins again and get born again, again! We have received eternal redemption. Our spirit is eternally redeemed and we have to get the power, victory and anointing to get manifested in our body . We have to understand that we have got a body and a soul apart from the spirit and if we yield our body to the devil, we cannot see the manifestation of the deliverance in our body.
We have to turn from sin and we have to seek God but not in order for God to accept you or to be pleased with you. John 4:24 says that God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” . Because God is a spirit He sees us in the spirit and in the spirit we are a completely a brand new person and in our spirit we are eternally redeemed and it does not change.
We still have to cooperate in our thoughts and actions in order to be able to enjoy all your benefits because we are just not only spirits. We are free, not to sin but to enjoy the freedom to worship and have a relationship with God irrespective of our performances. The love of God will make people live holy.
Titus 2:11-12 says
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age....
True grace does not set people free to sin, it sets people free from sin, from the guilt and condemnation so that they can truly serve God.
Two kinds of Love
It is very important to understand the meaning of Love because God is Love. By understanding the meaning of Love we can understand the very nature of God to the most clearest extent.
The word Love is very commonly used in everyday life, but we do not know the real meaning of it. There are 4 types of Love namely a) Brother and Sister Love, b) Friendly Love, c) Sexual Love and d) Selfless Love. We often use the word love for all the possible things in the world. Example: I love my dog, I love my wife. I love my chicken burger. Love here differs in all the three sentences.
In a very broad sense we can differentiate it as Human Love and Godly Love. Let us concentrate on Godly Love, which can also be termed as Selfless Love. Let us first try to define it: Doing always good to others irrespective of the other people's behaviour towards us. This calls for unconditional Love and is a sure qualification to be termed as Godly Love.
Human Love is conditional and mostly based on other person's response towards us. It can be best expressed as: I love you if you will do.........., I love you because you are.......
Problems with human love
People love based on their feelings, depending on other people's actions
People think that they could earn Love through their performances. But they do not realise that Love has to be received and cannot be bought.
People depending on feelings tend to be very uncertain, they cannot tell whether they will be happy today or not? Very pitiable indeed.
Returning back to God's Love: What does it take to Love like God? Can we really do it?
Let us consider certain scenarios and try to answer them to our best knowledge.
Is it possible to say:
I Love you but i can't forgive you.
I forgive you but i can't Love you.
I Love you but i don't have compassion on you.
I Love you but I won't act humbly towards you.
After a brief thought we agree that it is impossible to Love without involving the essence of the terms forgiveness, compassion, humility so on and so forth. We can also say that whenever we show Love towards a person, all the other attributes like forgiveness, compassion and humility will be manifested automatically.
To emphasize on this point a little further, we cannot Love any person without completely forgiving them. Compassion does not equal Love, but it is a step closer to Love. Humility does not mean you show your Love to people, but it is a sure part when you start Loving the person. You cannot strip these attribute of Love and still Love a person.
Unforgiveness has the attributes like anger, bitterness and pride, so it cannot coexist with Love. If we see fire we know that there is heat and light along with it. These individual attributes when found alone, ex: heat does not mean we have fire near always and light does not mean fire is there around too, but it is the other way around. You can recognize Love when we see all its attributes manifested.
When i say that i Love my wife, it means that i have forgiven all her wrong actions and my compassion is not conditional on any of her behaviour. I humble myself and give up my life to protect her. Love is real and exists. Reality is outside of our feelings and emotions. Love is a decision and cannot be based on our feelings which are very uncertain and volatile.
The attributes of fire like heat and light exist independent of your beliefs. If you put your finger in the fire, you will sense the heat. Putting the finger inside the fire did not create the heat, it only revealed the existence of heat in the fire. Similarly if you Love your wife, whenever she does a mistake, the forgiving attitude in you should be revealed to her without checking your feelings whether you should/ want to forgive or not. The mistakes of your wife would have just revealed the forgiving attribute of the Love that you had for her all along.
In order to follow God's way of loving we should make Love a decision and should not base it on other people actions or our own feelings. Love does not require repentance on the other people's part, but requires a decision from your part.
To sum it up all:
I corinthians 13 chapter speaks about Love in a wonderful manner.
though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind;
love does not envy;
love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
If Love is a decision then we can surely show God's kind of Love. Joy, happiness and lot other things have to be a decision to have a wonderful life, and that is what God has initially planned for us.
John 10:10 says
I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly.
If we desire this Godly Love to be a part of our lives, be sure that we cannot attain it by our own effort, it is a gift from God. Unless we receive it from God we cannot share or give it to others.
